And Then There Was Provence: A Memoire - Jo Anne Wilson
Seeking respite from the rigors of a Northern Michigan winter, Jo Anne Wilson spends time on an old restored lavender farm in the heart of Provence, Southern France. Little does she know that this vacation will open the door to an opportunity to return for a year as guardian of these same vacation cottages. That year morphs into a ten-year experience of living with one foot on two different continents as she bounces back and forth between Northern Michigan and Southern France. She makes friends and immerses herself in the relaxed life of Provence, but with a biological family and friends still in Michigan, she struggles with finances, emotional and health challenges, and tries to answer the question, “Where is home?”
Jo Anne Wilson was born and raised in Michigan. She was a French teacher and career educator who never wrote anything other than lesson plans until
she retired. Her first foray into creative writing was a book about living in Northern Michigan, called Walks With Maggie. Currently spending time in southern France, northern Michigan and central Florida, she is working on a follow up book, Letters from France.
